LEED®

Mechanical/electrical engineering (and energy management) have been core competencies at Peter Basso Associates since its inception.  While energy management also is a key component in today’s sustainable design movement, it has been a primary design philosophy at Basso for years. 

Not only do we embrace this industry trend, have been active with industry groups that promote sustainable design and develop related design standards.  We were founding members of the Detroit Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (the organization that certifies buildings and accredits LEED® professionals). In addition, a Basso Vice President has served as a member of the ASHRAE Standing Standard Project Committee 90.1 – Energy Efficient Design of New Buildings, the organization charged with setting industry standards for energy efficiency.  Currently, we have over 20 projects that have been LEED® certified, are pending certification, or are in the design/construction phase prior to being submitted for certification.

Peter Basso Associates has a thorough understanding of system designs that incorporate many energy conservation technologies.  We routinely perform energy modeling to evaluate opportunities to increase conservation (this modeling is a required element for LEED®).  Most importantly, Basso can advise you on how to maximize energy conservation benefits on your project, giving you the opportunity to meet LEED® requirements while considering life cycle costs.

Peter Basso Associates is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and members of our staff have attained designation as a LEED® Accredited Professional.  We provide both design and documentation services for LEED® certification.
