Port Huron, MI
Marwood Nursing and Rehab, a subsidiary of McLaren Port Huron, is located in a residential suburb and provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term nursing care, and memory care to senior citizens in need of these services.
Upon completion of a 28,000 square foot addition, for which PBA provided MEP engineering design services, Marwood moved on to its next phase. PBA continued as MEP partner for the extensive renovation of the existing 71,000 square foot building. By expanding the number of beds throughout the facility, Marwood was in need of heavy MEP engineering design services. PBA provided solutions which included the addition of new HVAC equipment for improved ventilation for the lounges and dining areas, new air conditioning units in two wings of resident housing, and additional plumbing design for new showers and toilet rooms. New electrical infrastructure was also added to provide normal and emergency power requirements and was sized to serve the existing building.
PBA’s efforts to fit within the tight space requirements were successful, as was remaining within the client’s budget. Much of the design implemented was done so with a Phase 3 project in mind.
