Each laboratory project has unique requirements, depending on its use. Key considerations during laboratory design include: Safety Long-term Functionality Energy Efficiency Maintenance Laboratory Airflow Controls Manifold Exhaust Systems Exhaust and Intake Conditions Electrical Systems Our MEP design engineers have addressed such issues as purified water systems, emergency eyewash fountains and showers, acid waste plumbing systems, fire protection, high ventilation and air conditioning loads, and selection of suitable materials for corrosive environments. ![The University of Michigan Memorial Phoenix Lab ](https://www.peterbassoassociates.com/hubfs/Next%20Gen%20Images%20-%20WebP%20Files/Markets/Laboratories/University-of-Michigan-Michigan-Memorial-Phoenix-Lab-Exterior_533x324.webp) #### University of Michigan Originally designed and built in 1955 to honor the University of Michigan community members who lost their lives in World War II service [Learn More →](https://www.peterbassoassociates.com/engineering-systems-design-for-university-of-michigan) ![Oakland Community College Science Building](https://www.peterbassoassociates.com/hubfs/Next%20Gen%20Images%20-%20WebP%20Files/Markets/Laboratories/Oakland-Community-College-Science-Bldg-Addition-Corridor_533x324.webp) #### Oakland Community College Universities have seen a surge in science and nursing-focused students, creating a higher demand for state-of-the-art laboratory space.
