Peter Basso Associates Inc. (“Peter Basso Associates,” “PBA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including its Illuminart architectural lighting design division, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit peterbassoassociates.com or illuminart.net, submit information through either website, or otherwise interact with our online services (each and collectively, the “Site”).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the Site.
We collect information you voluntarily provide and limited technical information received automatically when you visit the Site.
We may collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you:
- Complete a contact form
- Apply for employment
- Communicate with us by email, telephone, or another method
This information may include your name, company or organization, email address, telephone number, the content of your message, and any other information you choose to provide.
You are not required to provide personal information. However, choosing not to provide certain information may prevent us from responding to a request or providing certain website features.
Employment applications are submitted through JazzHR, a third-party applicant-tracking platform. Information submitted there may include employment history, education, professional qualifications, résumé information, contact information, and other application-relevant details. JazzHR processes that information under its own privacy terms in addition to this Privacy Policy.
When you access the Site, our website host and the service providers described below automatically receive limited technical information, including:
- IP address, browser type and version, device type, and operating system
- Screen size and approximate geographic location
- Referring website and pages viewed
- Date and time of a visit
We use this information in aggregate to understand Site traffic and to keep the Site secure. We do not use it to identify individual visitors or to build profiles about them.
We may use information collected through the Site to respond to inquiries, provide information about our engineering and lighting design services, evaluate potential projects and business opportunities, review employment applications, understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate, improve the Site, maintain Site security, comply with legal requirements, and protect our rights and the rights of our employees, clients, and website users.
Information you submit through a contact form is delivered by email to designated PBA staff, stored in our website platform's form records, and used to respond to your inquiry.
We may combine information collected through the Site with information obtained through previous communications or business relationships.
Cookies are small text files placed on a browser or device when someone visits a website. The Site does not use advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking technologies, and it does not use cookies for analytics. Any cookies or similar technologies used on the Site are limited to those necessary for its operation and security, such as spam prevention and, where displayed, remembering your response to a cookie notice.
The Site uses the following service providers:
Hosts the Site and processes contact form submissions. Like most website hosts, Webflow receives standard technical information, such as IP address and browser details, when pages are requested, and it stores form submissions on our behalf.
Provides basic, privacy-focused traffic analytics. GoatCounter does not use cookies or persistent identifiers to track visitors. It records aggregate information such as pages viewed, referring websites, browser and device type, screen size, and approximate country, which we use only to understand overall Site traffic.
Helps protect the Site's forms from spam and automated abuse. Turnstile evaluates technical signals from your browser and device to distinguish people from automated bots. Cloudflare states that it does not use Turnstile data for advertising.
Delivers the typefaces used on the Site. Adobe states that it does not set or use cookies to serve fonts. To provide the service, Adobe receives technical information such as the fonts served and our web project identifier, along with the standard details any browser request includes, such as IP address.
We also use Google Search Console to understand how the Site appears in Google search results. Search Console does not place code or cookies on the Site.
Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy documentation. Peter Basso Associates remains responsible for deciding why these tools are used and how they are configured.
Because the Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, there are no nonessential cookies for you to accept or reject.
You can configure your browser to block, reject, or delete cookies, though this may affect the functionality of certain features, such as contact forms.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
Vendors that help us operate the Site or conduct business — including website hosting, analytics, spam prevention, email, IT, cybersecurity, recruiting/applicant tracking, and professional consulting providers — may process information only as necessary to perform services for us.
We may disclose information to professional partners, consultants, or contractors when necessary to respond to a request, evaluate an opportunity, or provide services. We will not disclose information to an unaffiliated party for that party's independent marketing purposes without appropriate authorization where required.
We may disclose information to comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process; respond to a government request; enforce our agreements; investigate misconduct; or protect the rights, property, and safety of Peter Basso Associates, our employees, clients, or website users.
Information may be disclosed or transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets. Any successor organization may continue to use information under this Privacy Policy unless it provides notice of a different practice.
We may use or disclose aggregated, statistical, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, respond to requests, maintain business and project records, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and protect against fraud or security threats. Retention periods vary by information type and purpose. Information held by third-party providers may also be subject to those providers' own retention practices.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. However, no website or method of electronic transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by an unauthorized party. Visitors should not submit confidential, proprietary, financial, health-related, or other sensitive information through a general website form unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure method.
The Site may link to third-party websites, platforms, or services not controlled by Peter Basso Associates. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information those third parties collect after you leave the Site, and we are not responsible for their privacy or data practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site or service you visit.
The Site may include links to our social media profiles. If you follow these links, the applicable platform's privacy policy and account settings govern any information it collects.
The Site is intended for a professional and general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site, please contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.
Peter Basso Associates is based in the United States. Information collected through the Site may be transmitted to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws in your location.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request that we confirm whether we process personal information about you, provide access to it, correct inaccuracies, delete certain information, restrict or object to certain processing, provide a portable copy, withdraw consent, opt out of certain targeted advertising, or provide information about disclosures to third parties. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions and verification requirements.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in “Contact Us” below. We may ask you to verify your identity to process the request. Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf, subject to documentation of their authority. We will not unlawfully discriminate against anyone for exercising an applicable privacy right.
California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law, depending on whether that law applies to Peter Basso Associates and the specific information involved, including the right to request information about certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct-marketing purposes. Requests may be submitted using the contact information below.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting or similar signals, such as Global Privacy Control. Because there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should interpret these signals, the Site does not respond to them. The Site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies, and it does not track visitors across third-party websites over time.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our websites or business practices, the technologies used on the Site, our service providers, or applicable legal requirements. Changes will be identified by the “Last updated” date above and become effective when the revised policy is posted to the Site unless otherwise stated. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
