None of it should make anyone think about the building. The hot water has to be there when the whole building showers before work. The unit next door has to stay quiet. A century-old structure needs modern systems that fit without erasing what made it worth saving. And a restaurant kitchen has to clear the heat and smoke without chilling the patio crowd.
When it works, nobody notices. That's the point.
