PBA was requested to provide MEP engineering design services for the phased renovation of approximately 20,000 sf of floor space in the HFMC ambulatory surgery department. The project was part of the challenging conversion of the former headquarters of an automotive parts supplier into a Class A off-campus outpatient medical center for Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), where HFHS planned to utilize 92,000 sf of the 101,000 sf of converted space.
Renovated spaces included three operating rooms, a procedure room, sterile processing, pre- and post-op beds and related support spaces.
PBA provided MEP and fire protection system design services to serve the renovated spaces and provided design for electrical power and raceways for support of technology systems and cabling. The renovation resulted in lower costs for the owner and improved patient convenience.
