Good restaurant lighting is a balance between aesthetics and function. We often like the dining experience to feel dramatic but people still need to be able to read the menu without needing to use their phone flashlights. So much of what lighting does is a mix of ambient and accent light. Most restaurants rely too much on decorative without accent light. This tends to make a beautiful space flat. A tasteful use of both is important to the overall flavor of the design and architecture.
Peter Basso Associates provides MEP engineering services for institutes of higher learning—from facilities condition assessments and system design, to construction contract administration and building commissioning. Using our expertise in energy management and the design of high performance building systems, we deliver mechanical and electrical systems that satisfy rigorous campus standards requirements, as well as discerning building occupants.
