Peter Basso Associates, Inc., a leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consulting firm, is in search of an IT Support Specialist to join our team in Troy, Michigan! Among other responsibilities, this professional will provide support to end-users and assist with a variety of administrative and technical work in the installation and maintenance of the PBA Information Technology Systems.

About the Job:

As our IT Support Specialist, you will provide first-class support to a dynamic staff of engineering professionals. Under the general direction of the Director of IT, you’ll be responsible for managing the assignment of hardware to users; providing support and educating staff in the use of computers and mobile devices hardware and software, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues and. You will also work independently to resolve end-user issues and develop and maintain end-user device management procedures. In addition to end-user support, you may have the opportunity to assist with the administration and maintenance of server and data network infrastructure, voice network, system backups, and more.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, education, or qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college or university.
5-7 years of experience providing end-user hardware and software support in a highly available environment with over 50 users.
Ability to investigate software and/or hardware issues; perform diagnostic testing; and apply critical thinking to resolve problems.
Must be capable of self-learning using publicly available resources and product documentation to identify, research and resolve end-user issues.
Familiarity with Windows Operating System, Active Directory, NTFS security principles, and fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SSL, etc.) is required.
Experience with Group Policy, Windows command shell, and PowerShell scripting strongly desired.
Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and/or SCCM is a plus.
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours if required.
