We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm serving clients across Higher Education, K–12 Education, Healthcare, Corporate, and Government markets. Our specialized Commissioning and Lighting Design groups round out a service offering that sets us apart in the industry.
THE ROLE - What You Will Do
This is a high-impact role for a marketing professional who is equal parts strategist, organizer, and creative. You'll have the authority to shape how PBA tells its story, with leadership support and a talented assistant behind you. As an employee-owner, you'll have a real stake in PBA's success and the opportunity to build a marketing strategy that reflects our firm-wide commitment to quality.
This position reports to our Director of Strategic Growth and works closely with Market Sector Directors, along with marketing counterparts at architectural partner firms.
The immediate priority: Transform our RFQ/RFP response process from an ad-hoc exercise into a streamlined, professional, and technology-enabled system that produces compelling credential packages and proposals consistently and efficiently. Once that foundation is in place, the role expands into website, social media, brand, and broader business development support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proposals, Credentials, & Opportunities
- Own the end-to-end RFQ and RFP response process from receipt through submission
- Audit existing proposal materials and build a structured library of firm credentials, project experience, staff resumes, and boilerplate content
- Select and manage projects for write-ups and photography; oversee the image and digital asset library
- Develop professional templates and standardized layouts that improve the quality and consistency of all pursuit materials
- Embrace and leverage technology to increase efficiency and reduce the time burden on technical staff
- Collaborate with Market Sector Directors to tailor content and messaging for each pursuit
- Log and track opportunities and monitor and follow up on status
- Monitor subscription services and relevant websites for new project opportunities, relay to appropriate group leaders
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and leave-behind materials for project interviews
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with marketing counterparts at architectural partner firms
Brand & Communications
- Serve as the steward of the PBA brand, ensuring consistent voice, visual identity, and messaging across all channels
- Oversee website content in partnership with our web development consultant
- Develop and execute social media campaigns that build awareness and reinforce PBA's market position
- Support recruiting and staff development efforts with marketing materials in collaboration with Human Resources
Events & Outreach
- Plan and coordinate participation in trade shows, conferences, sponsorships, and firm events
- Coordinate production and distribution of annual client holiday gifts and firm communications
Strategy & Performance
- Gather and synthesize market intelligence to help identify trends and growth opportunities
- Develop and manage the marketing budget
- Build and maintain metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and return on investment
Team Leadership
- Directly supervise, mentor, and develop the Marketing Assistant
- Maintain a marketing process and procedures manual as the operating playbook and to allow cross training of corporate services staff to serve as back-up support
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of marketing experience, with meaningful time in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, or Construction) industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in RFQ/RFP preparation. You understand what selection committees look for and how to position a firm to win
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and the broader Creative Suite; familiarity with CRM platforms and proposal automation tools a plus
- Strong writing and editing skills; able to translate technical content into compelling narratives
- Experience building proposal processes and content libraries
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision or Vantage Point, or similar CRM and opportunity-tracking platforms
- Experience with proposal automation tools and AI-assisted content development
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar digital marketing tools
- CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketer) certification or active pursuit
