The Clarkston Medical Group is comprised of over 25 medical specialists who provide services and medical care to the entire family, from infants to adults. Spaces within the facility include a pharmacy and laboratory, radiology room, outpatient surgery center, and areas designed for diagnostic services
PBA provided mechanical and electrical engineering design for the Clarkston Medical Group three-story medical office building.
Split system air conditioning units provide cooling for the communication and electrical rooms as well as the CT scan room and control center. In some cases the condensing unit is mounted in the ceiling space where available but areas where noise might be a problem the condensing unit is mounted on the roof. Roof mounted exhaust fans provide general building exhaust.
A new primary meter electrical service was provided. Mechanical equipment loads are served from power distribution panels and/or motor control centers located in the electrical or mechanical rooms. Emergency power distribution consists of a diesel-powered emergency standby generator with a sub base storage tank capable of holding enough fuel for 24 hours at full load. Lighting systems provide light levels in accordance with Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recommended standards. A visual notification nurse call system was provided in the surgical center and urgent care area was required to meet all applicable codes.
