Engineering Services for Healthcare and Laboratory Systems

When it comes to providing engineering services for healthcare systems, specialized expertise must come into play. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are critical elements, as these buildings must provide a high level of occupant comfort and system reliability.  Our MEP engineering team knows that special attention must be given to infection control, illumination levels and comfort levels for patients, caregivers and visitors. Plus, we know how competitive a business healthcare is – and that’s why our MEP engineering team works to contain facility capital and operational costs, all while improving maintainability and reducing energy expenditures.

Peter Basso Associates is a leader in the innovative design and development of sophisticated laboratory facilities.  Each laboratory project has unique requirements, depending on its use.  Our MEP design engineers have addressed such issues as purified water systems, emergency eyewash fountains and showers, acid waste plumbing systems, fire protection, high ventilation and air conditioning loads, and the selection of suitable materials for corrosive environments.

Molecular Imaging Maintenance Updates 5-Year Plan Mechanical and Electrical Systems Assessment | Ann Arbor, MI

Existing MEP systems and equipment were evaluated including each piece of HVAC equipment and each system as a whole. Current system redundancies and back/up power (natural gas-powered generator) for critical areas were also evaluated.
A comprehensive report on the existing equipment and systems was provided to the  client in addition to a comprehensive 5-year plan for MEP systems. Appropriate MEP systems to support the current building as well as future operations (5 years) were recommended along with a strategic, cost/effective approach for the installation, expansion, and replacement of the systems.
